Originating from the Sanskrit words, Janu (knee/joint) and Basti (procedure), Janu Basti is a treatment in which knee pain is treated by bathing it in warm medicated oil or a prepared herbal concoction. Depending on the condition, it can be practiced over one or both knee joints. In Ayurveda, knee joints are considered “Sandhi Marma” which means joint type of vital areas. The Janu Basti is specialized knee therapy which helps rejuvenate this vital area.
